1. Who we are
Language Seva provides online language courses, live classes, assessments and learner support. In this policy, “Language Seva”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the operator of languageseva.com and its learning platform.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the platform, we may collect:
- Account and contact details, such as your name, email address, phone number and login credentials.
- Learning information, including enrolments, lesson progress, quiz results, attendance, questions, bookmarks and trainer feedback.
- Content you submit, such as assignments, written work, audio or video recordings and support messages.
- Transaction information, such as order value, payment status, coupon use, invoice and applicable GST details. We do not store complete card, bank or UPI credentials.
- Technical information, such as IP address, browser, device, access time, security events and cookie or session data.
- Communication preferences, consent records and enquiry details.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to provide and secure accounts; process enrolments and payments; deliver lessons and live classes; review submissions; track progress; issue certificates; send service messages; respond to enquiries; prevent abuse; meet legal and accounting obligations; and improve the learning experience.
Where required, we ask for consent before sending promotional email or using optional recordings beyond delivering and assessing your course. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time.
4. Who receives information
We share only what is reasonably needed with service providers that help us operate the platform, including payment processing through Razorpay, secure video delivery, email delivery, hosting and storage, analytics, and live-class providers such as Zoom. A trainer can access information about learners and submissions only for courses or batches assigned to that trainer.
We may disclose information when required by law, to protect learners and the platform, or as part of a business restructuring subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal information.
5. Recordings and learner submissions
Speaking recordings, writing tasks and other submissions are used to deliver feedback and assess learning. Live classes may be recorded only when learners are notified. Access is limited to authorised learners, trainers and administrators, and recording links may expire or be removed according to the course schedule.
6. Retention
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described above. Account, learning and certificate records may be retained while an account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards. Transaction and invoice records are retained for the period required by tax and accounting law. Security logs and unneeded submissions are deleted or anonymised on a shorter operational schedule.
7. Security
We use role-based access, encryption in transit, password hashing, restricted object storage, signed media links, backups, logging and security reviews. No online service can promise absolute security, so please use a unique password and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
8. Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information; withdraw consent; stop promotional communication; or raise a concern about how information is handled. Some information must be retained for legal, fraud-prevention or certificate-verification purposes.
9. Children
A parent or legal guardian must authorise use of the platform by a learner who cannot independently consent under applicable law. Guardians should contact us before enrolling a child so that suitable account and communication arrangements can be made.
10. Cookies and similar technology
Essential cookies keep you signed in, protect sessions and remember necessary preferences. Optional analytics or marketing technologies will be used only with the choices made through the platform's consent controls where required.
